Park StreetFormerly Le Pynfold Lane (1547), then Pinfold Lane. From Lichfield Street [247225] to Uxbridge Street [244227]. Pinfold Lane went further west to the Pinfold on the edge of the Great Moor, somewhere near the railway bridges at Moor Street [239229]. Today the street is in two parts either side of the extended Orchard Street.

Ryknild StreetYkneilde Strete (1275). A Roman road from Fosse Way at Bourton on the Water [SP172223] to Templeborough [SK413915] in South Yorkshire. Constructed circa 60AD and alluded to in Anglo Saxon writings. The road entered Burton at The Gate Inn, Branston and exited the town at Clay Mills, Stretton.It followed the line of Clays Lane, and through Beans covert - where a length of the agger may be seen - and then ran a short distance east alongside Wellington Road and Wellington Street, crossing Moor Street at the east end of the terraced houses [238230]. After the town hall area the road is below Derby Street and Derby Road. See here.
